"Every body can play."

SKIP: SLCC Kids in Play is designed as a community-based exercise and play program for children with disabilities and their families within the greater Salt Lake area for grades 4-6.

I was privileged to design the logo for the Salt Lake Community College Department of Exercise Science’s new SKIP program. Drawing inspiration from the college’s mascot, the Bruin, and the idea of the SKIP program being for kids gave me the idea of using a skipping bear cub for the logo. I used colors from SLCC’s style guide to help the logo align seamlessly with the school’s visual identity. They loved the cub logo, so they put him on t-shirts for the volunteers (Rangers) and kids (Cubs), as well as water bottles.

They asked me to create signage for X-stands and A-frames. They needed these quickly so I was given less than 24 hours to create the designs. The Director of Exercise Science was very pleased with the designs I came up with in such a short turnaround time.
